Sisters (Beginner) Sewing Classes
Take out those barely used sewing machines and
join us for fun sewing classes.
Come and learn:
·how to thread your machine correctly,
·how to wind the bobbin,
·adjust the stitches and tension for optimum results,
·machine maintenance,
·how to complete decorative pieces,
·types of stitches and of course how to sew basic items.
Who:Beginners to intermediate level
When:Every Saturday between November 15th and
December 6th at 2:00 p.m. (4 Classes)
Where:Islamic Center of Maryland, Sisters Hall
Classroom (19411 Woodfield Rd Gaithersburg, MD 20879)
Fee: $70 for all 4 classes
What to bring: Sewing machine (its tools and manual), basic
sewing supplies (scissors, thread, tape rule, bobbins, scrap
fabric), projects to work on and a cheerful spirit.
What’s provided: Cutting tables, iron, print outs and
fabrics for practice.
Sisters (intermediate) Sewing Classes
Since you got those machines out, now it’s time to
perfect some basic details required in every garment you make.
Come and learn:
·gathers,
·fly zippers,
·facings,
·elastic casing,
·inseam pockets,
·and of course simple tips and tricks.
Who:Intermediate level
When:Every Sunday between November 16th and December
7th at 2:00 p.m. (4 Classes)
Where:Islamic Center of Maryland, Sisters Hall Classroom

Fee:$70 for all 4 classes.
What to bring: Sewing machine (its tools and manual),
basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, tape rule, bobbins,
scrap fabric, chalk/tailors marker), iron (if you can) projects
to work on and a cheerful spirit.
What’s provided: Cutting tables, iron, print outs, Interfacing,
zipper, Elastic and fabrics for practice.
