Jumah Salaah on July 3 & ISNA Convention  top

Assalaamu Alaikum,

Due to the holiday weekend and Casey Community Center being closed, ICM will draw a much larger than usual crowd on Friday July 3 insha Allah. We are looking for volunteers who can help facilitate Friday Salaah at ICM. Help will be needed in (a) set-up extended prayer areas, (b) Set-up additional sound system, (c) Assist our elderly in finding a place and/or providing them a chair, if they need one, (d) Help in directing traffic on our parking lot and the church next door, (e) Manage donation boxes, (f) Help in selling catered food to raise funds for masjid construction and more insha Allah.

In addition ICM has a booth at the ISNA Convention in Washington DC from July 3 - 6.
We need brothers and sisters above the age of 21 to volunteer for atleast four hours during those days.

Your help is urgently needed this weekend. Please help by calling 301 840 9440.
There will be a planning session on Tuesday at 8:00 PM insha Allah. Please attend this important meeting.
May Allah (swt) reward you for your efforts.

International Food Festival  top

Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to host the International Food Festival & Bazaar again at ICM this year on Saturday, August 1st, inshaAllah, from 11am to 5pm.  The festival will include booths representing cultures throughout the Muslim world from Morocco, Ethiopia, Palestine, Russia, Turkey, Iran, India, Malaysia, and many other countries, showcasing the richness and diversity in our foods, clothing, and handicrafts.  Each year we look to our community to make this event a success by volunteering their time to stand at the booths to share our cultures with each other as well as with our non-muslim neighbors.  Please fill out the form at the following link to make this year's festival better than ever, inshaAllah => http://spreadsheets .google.com/ viewform? key=plOmLW73Sxb- dhpTrYfLnXQ

ICM Feed The Homeless Program - Sunday June 28, 2009
The next "ICM Feed The Homeless Program" is taking place this Sunday June 28, 2009, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Insha'Allah.  We serve about 150 people every month November through March, and 50 people every month April through October.  If you can help with cooking, please send an email to Sr. Shahnaz at shahnaz_baten@yahoo.com and/or Sr. Lubna at lmalik_bina@yahoo.com.  If you can help with food setup and serving, please send an email to me at arshadajmeri@hotmail.com.  Donation checks should be made payable to ICM, with the notation "FEED THE HOMELESS" at the bottom of your checks, and mailed directly to ICM at 19411 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20879.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time and/or their money to this worthy cause; May Allah SWT reward you for all your efforts in this life and in the hereafter Aameen.  FYI. The Islamic Center of Maryland Social Services Committee (ICM) (www.icomd.org) has agreed (adopted) with the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH) (www.mcch.net), to bring and serve hot cooked meals to homeless people on the 4th Sundays of every month to their Men's Emergency Shelter, 600 East Gude Drive, Rockville MD 20850.  ICM started this program in February 2003.  The 2009 dates are: Sundays 1/25/2009, 2/22, 3/22, 4/26, 5/24, 6/28, 7/26, 8/23, 9/27, 10/25, 11/22 & 12/13 (12/13 is the 2nd Sunday).  Jazakallah Khair.

Free Lunch Offered for Students (17 and Under)
Every weekenday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Whetstone Elementary
School (located at 19201 Thomas Farm Road, Gaithersburg) is open as a
walk-in site for free lunch.  Children 17 and under will be provided
with a free nutritious lunch.  Please tell your neighbors and friends
about this important resource.  For more information about this program,
