 Iftaar at ICM

Every year ICM organizes Iftaar/Dinner at the Masjid. The community is welcome to participate by donating money or signing-up to bring food. Everyone (including non-Muslims) is invited for dinner at the Masjid.
Our beloved prophet (saw) said: "Whoever gives food to a fasting person with which to break fast, will have a reward equal to his, without it detracting in the slightest from the reward of the fasting person" (Ahmed and Tirmidhi)

Frequently Asked Questions

   1. How do we sign-up?
   ► Put your name down on the sign-up sheet at the Masjid OR
   ► Call 301 840 9440 OR
   ► Send an email to: icmadmin@icomd.org and copy to aslam1048@yahoo.com

   2. Can I bring food or do I have to donate money?
   ► You may do whatever you prefer. If you are bringing food, you must sign-up.

   3. If I decide on bringing food, for how many should I bring?
   ► There are about 150 - 200 people on Mon - Thurs and 250 - 300 on Fri - Sun.

   4. Can we bring food for a few people or partner with someone?
   ► Yes, you can. But you must sign-up and specify the quantity ahead of time.

   5. Do we need to cook or have a restaurant cater the food?
   ► You have the choice to do either way.

   6. If we decide to cater can you help us?
   ► Yes, Restaurants give us special prices for Ramadan.

   7. If we donate money, is there a specific amount?
   ► No, you may donate any amount you wish.

   8. How much does it cost to feed each person?
   ► The cost is approximately $3.00 - $4.00 per person.
       The food is simple and every effort is made to keep the cost down.

   9. How do we donate?
   ► Donations boxes are in the Masjid labeled: Iftaar/Dinner.
   ► You may also mail your checks made payable to ICM with a notation "Iftaar"

 10. Are there any other items the Masjid needs during Ramadan?
   ► Yes, you may donate bottled water, dates and paper products.

Who should attend: Those studying Middle Eastern culture & history, new Muslims and any person of other faith interested to learn the basics of Islam.
